Der chinesische Botschafter in Australien, Xiao Qian, hat Australien aufgefordert, weiterhin anzuerkennen, dass es ,,nur ein China" gibt und Taiwan eine ,,Provinz Chinas" ist.
,,Vor 52 Jahren haben wir diplomatische Beziehungen aufgenommen", sagte Herr Xiao am Dienstag auf einer Pressekonferenz.
,,Die australische Regierung hat anerkannt, dass es nur ein China gibt und Taiwan eine Provinz Chinas ist.
,,Dies ist eine ernsthafte Verpflichtung der australischen Regierung in den letzten Jahrzehnten, und ich bin mir bewusst, dass jede einzelne Regierung in diesem Land ihre Verpflichtung in dieser Frage bekräftigt hat."
China's ambassador to Australia Xiao Qian has urged Australia to continue recognising there is "only one China" and Taiwan is a "province of China".
"52 years ago, we established diplomatic ties," Mr Xiao said at a media conference on Tuesday.
"The government of Australia recognised there's only one China, and Taiwan is a province of China.
"This is a serious commitment from the Australian government over the past several decades, and I am aware that each and every government in this country has been reaffirming their commitment on this issue."
