Es entspricht dem staatlichen und politischen Selbstverständnis Bayerns, die Interessen des Freistaats überall dort eigenständig zu vertreten, wo diese berührt sind. Die Welt wird zunehmend kleiner. Der Konkurrenzdruck nimmt zu. Der Freistaat will diesen Wandel aktiv mitgestalten und bayerische Interessen einbringen.
Die Attraktivität und der Status des Freistaats Bayern überall auf der Welt sind zwei unverzichtbare Gründe für die bayerische Erfolgsgeschichte. Das Engagement Bayerns versteht sich dabei als Ergänzung und Bereicherung zur Außenpolitik des Bundes.
