Today I would like to share another brilliant talk of Ambassador Chas Freeman with you. This one was recorded as part of a Zoom event on February 20th, 2025 by Mr. Eddie O'Brien of the Thinking Center, an Irish civil society organization. The video is a Q&A type of roundtable with Ambassador Freeman and all of his insights are, as always, very much worth listening to. Among other positions, Ambassador Freeman served as US Assistant Secretary of Defense, as US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, and he was Richard Nixon's principal interpreter during his 1972 visit to China, which led to the normalization of US-China relations.

Heute möchte ich einen weiteren brillanten Vortrag von Botschafter Chas Freeman mit Ihnen teilen. Dieser wurde im Rahmen einer Zoom-Veranstaltung am 20. Februar 2025 von Herrn Eddie O'Brien vom Thinking Center, einer irischen zivilgesellschaftlichen Organisation, aufgezeichnet. Das Video ist eine Art Q&A-Rundtischgespräch mit Botschafter Freeman, und all seine Einsichten sind, wie immer, sehr hörenswert. Unter anderem diente Botschafter Freeman als US Assistant Secretary of Defense, als US-Botschafter in Saudi-Arabien, und er war Richard Nixons Hauptdolmetscher während seines Besuchs in China 1972, der zur Normalisierung der US-China-Beziehungen führte.

Esta fue grabada como parte de un evento de Zoom el 20 de febrero de 2025 por el Sr. Eddie O'Brien del Thinking Center, una organización de la sociedad civil irlandesa. El video es un tipo de mesa redonda de preguntas y respuestas con el Embajador Freeman y todas sus ideas son, como siempre, muy valiosas para escuchar. Entre otros cargos, el Embajador Freeman se desempeñó como Secretario Adjunto de Defensa de EE. UU., como Embajador de EE. Aujourd'hui, je voudrais partager avec vous une autre brillante intervention de l'Ambassadeur Chas Freeman. Celle-ci a été enregistrée dans le cadre d'un événement Zoom le 20 février 2025 par M. Eddie O'Brien du Thinking Center, une organisation de la société civile irlandaise. La vidéo est une table ronde de type questions-réponses avec l'Ambassadeur Freeman et tous ses éclairages valent, comme toujours, vraiment la peine d'être écoutés. Parmi d'autres postes, l'Ambassadeur Freeman a servi comme Secrétaire adjoint à la Défense des États-Unis, comme Ambassadeur des États-Unis en Arabie Saoudite, et il a été l'interprète principal de Richard Nixon lors de sa visite en Chine en 1972, qui a conduit à la normalisation des relations entre les États-Unis et la Chine.
